Virtual online jobs expo - A first for the recruitment industry

9 May 2007

Leading recruitment firm, Kelly Services, has announced a breakthrough in innovative recruitment with the launch of the 2007 Virtual Kelly Job Expo.

The Kelly Job Expo will transform the concept of a traditional style jobs fair into a convenient and up-to-date virtual online format for job seekers

From 18 May to 27 May, job seekers will be able to log onto the expo, seek information, search for jobs and submit interest in their chosen industry or specific jobs.

James Bowmer, Country Manager of Kelly Services Australia, said “there is a high demand for new, convenient and alternative ways in which job seekers can search for careers or jobs.

“In a candidate-dry market, we are exploring new ways to attract candidates by combining both old methods of expos and fairs with new methods including job boards and online searches.

“Many people cannot find the time to attend traditional job expos, so we are giving them the opportunity to gain information and apply for jobs in their own time and in the comfort of their home. “

When visitors enter the virtual exhibition hall they can choose an industry booth and search jobs Australia-wide or select a specific location.  If they can’t find a job that suits their skills or career aspirations they can define their ideal job and employer of choice. Visitors can move easily through each industry booth or head to the corporate sponsor gallery and search for jobs with some of Australia’s great places to work.

The Kelly Job Expo will feature temporary, contract and full-time opportunities in the fields of accounting & finance, IT, scientific, engineering, industrial, call centre and office support.

Mr. Bowmer said Kelly Services is pleased to be at the forefront of the industry, providing innovative alternatives to traditional recruitment methods.

“The Kelly Job Expo is the first of its kind in Australia and we are excited to launch such an innovative initiative for clients and candidates”.

The Kelly Job Expo will run from 18 to 27 May 2007. Visitors can sign up and be notified when the expo goes live by visiting www.kellyjobexpo.com.au
