What past Interns have had to say about the Kelly Services Intern Program
What was your overall impression of the Intern Program?
"I found it highly professional. Everything was organised. I came in knowing exactly what was expected of me, how I would be assessed. There was a variety of tasks and training to be undertaken".
"There was a list of tasks that we had to learn before completion".
"The mentoring was great".
"I got positive feedback and constructive criticism".
"The environment was professional yet friendly. You can be yourself".
How has the intern program helped you prepare for future work opportunities?
"It has helped me become more polished. It has allowed me to develop professional communication skills and it gave me an understanding of business in today’s society. I gained a breadth of experience."
"My new employer was very impressed I had worked with Kelly. They were impressed I had done the intern program. It looks good on the resume".
"When you come out of uni you don’t always recognise the expectations on you and the hours etc. It really prepares you for getting up early and working 8 hours".
How has the program helped you developed personally?
"I have become more mature. I was not always dealing with people my age and had to hold conversations and communicate professionally. It only benefits you in future employment".
"It gave me more confidence and ability to apply for positions. I know what employers are looking for and therefore I am able to present that".
What did you learn?
"I learned the whole recruitment process. I also learned the value of professional relationships and developing relationships in business. I went on some client visits and learned a lot about people".
Did you feel a part of the company?
"Absolutely. We were involved in team meetings and our own input was valued. You are often asked for your opinions".
"Sometimes we developed new processes and procedures. Everyone made an effort to know who you were".
Were there any drawbacks?
"Getting up early and not getting paid for it. But the experience has been worth it".
Do you think you would have been successful in getting the Graduate HR role you have now if you did not take part in the intern program?
"It definitely contributed towards it. I cannot say for sure if it was the determining factor but it definitely helped".
"The skills and professional development contributed to who I am and that was reflected in the interview".
Would you recommend it to other students?
"Without a doubt".
